At your tables in groups develop the following narrative in less than a page of text. That means you fill in the names of characters, descriptions, plot events, tropes/symbols and closure.

Now I can stand high on its walls; all see it's achievement and wonder at its creator, ______." Iz______r began having dreams of __________ and ___________ one night and they continued for ______ weeks revealing __________ stars falling upon his ___________.
It was then, after these weeks, that a dark figure came to town cloaked in ___________. Iz______r felt the hair raise on his arms and his spine ___________. He turned to his _________and she spoke: "Only you can determine the threat or blessing of the ______. Just know that upon the third _____rise you will determine the meaning of the presence. Upon ________ speaking, you will see the ________ and take the ________ to the __________.
Fill in the climax....
Fill in the resolution and its closure....
Now trade your narrative with another's table. Besides the first three paragraphs what are the similarities and differences? What accounts for them?

Once there was a priest of high stature named Izkaborshtar. "I awoke one day to a river filled with animals and terrors from the depths. I retreat to my temple - now I can stand high on its walls; all see its achievement and wonder at its creator, Dorofey." Izkaborshtar began having dreams of having conquered all and therefore amassing innumerable riches and power one night and they continued for 40 weeks revealing the gods’ stars falling upon his fortune.
It was then, after these weeks, that a dark figure came to town cloaked in ruby. Izkaborshtar felt the hair rise on his arms and his spine tingled with desire. He turned to his concubine and she spoke: "Only you can determine the threat or blessing of the omen. Just know that upon the third moonrise you will determine the meaning of the presence. Upon the moon speaking, you will see the journey set before you and take the amulet to the omen guarding the temple of the moon gods.
On the eve of his departure, Izkaborshtar prayed to the moon goddess, Lunanina, for the riches and power he had seen in his dream. She replied, “First, you must ensure the protection of your people by sacrificing Rus, the Great Bear, at the lost temple of the moon gods. Use the amulet to follow the light of the moon to the temple.” He set off on his journey is search of the Great Bear.
He walked for seven years and, where he walked, Salsola kali sprouted from his footsteps in the night. He came across the bear, subdued it and sacrificed it on the moonstone table at the temple of the moon gods. Lunanina appeared before him in the form of a two-headed eagle and told Izkaborshtar, “Upon your return home, you will find all that you desire.”
Facing the terrors of the deep, he sailed for three years through the icy ocean and down the river to his home. He rejoiced in his riches, feasts, and concubines Because of his journey, his land was protected against evil because of the barrier formed by the Salsola kali.

Izzizer began having dreams of ___orcas__ and __dolphins___ one night and they continued for __40__ weeks revealing ___7_ stars falling upon his __head___.
It was then, after these weeks, that a dark figure came to town cloaked in __black velvet . Izizzer felt the hair raise on his arms and his spine ___quaked___. He turned to his __pony_____and she spoke: "Only you can determine the threat or blessing of the __stranger_. Just know that upon the third __moon_rise you will determine the meaning of the presence. Upon __the genderless stranger__ speaking, you will see the __lanterns_ and take the __path_ to the ____mountain___.
As the merman’s pony climbed up the mountain, in classical epic fashion; he, she or (genderless) it, braved amazing perils to reach the mountain top. The earth shook violently and the spat up vanilla icing with sprinkles.
The velvety stranger emerged from the mountain’s core, did a little dance, drank a little tea and proceeded to debate the pony.
However, when the pony’s wisdom was revealed to be too great for the stranger’s comprehension, the genderless stranger resorted to sorcery…and more dancing.
The stranger began to take on the forms of different creatures: crawling things, and flying things, and even a dodo bird. The pony seemed stunned the stranger approached it/him/her.
Then, all of a sudden, everything grew mysteriously dark.
The merman awoke. The whole entire thing had been a dream…or was it?
